A Girl Met A Boy
I was 16 years old when I moved to California. My single mom had just remarried and we were ready for a new start as a family. Little did I know my entire life would change after living here. A few years later and I graduated college and decided to do an internship with my church. Joel heard about the internship while visiting his grandparents in India and felt called to go as well. Our friendship quickly turned into flirtation and then he just couldn’t get enough of me!

Along Came Four Beautifully Mixed Kids
We have four pretty epic kids, if I say so myself! Our boy’s names are Liam, Levi, and Lucas. Yes, we gave them all “L” names on purpose! For a while we were an all boy family. I seriously thought I would be a boy mom forever. I even tried for about five years to convince Joel that we were done having kids. Then baby fever hit us both! We got pregnant and welcomed little miss Emelia to the family! A girl. A little girl!
Now, we are all learning what it looks like to have a little girl in this family! We couldn’t be happier as a family of six! Our family does everything we can to infuse both cultures. We want our kids to learn what it means to be biracial and how to truly identify with both Eastern and Western culture.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO:
When Joel and I got married, I was desperate for advice on how to have an interracial relationship. I wanted to know how other people were doing it and I couldn’t find anything online! It was right then that The Almost Indian Wife blog was born. I wanted to share my journey with other families in similar situations!
A Little About Me
For the last decade, I have combined my biracial background along with my husband's East Indian background in my own multiracial family. I have a passion to help other multiracial families navigate multiple cultures and build a healthy foundation so they can stand up against anything!
I began coaching in 2015. Through out the years, I have coached hundreds of women and couples looking to thrive in their interracial families.
I have been trained in behavioral therapy and counseling.
