Her blog is all about looking at life through a multicolored lens. Today, she is sharing a little about her family and what makes them unique.

Tell me a little about yourself

Well I am a small town girl married and settled in one of India’s fastest growing metro.
I have enjoyed 10+ years as a copy writer and have worked on the some fanciest brands in India - Pepsi, Slice, Lay’s, Hero Honda and more. Now, I am enjoying a blissful married life and am learning a chapter a day on parenting my twins- a boy and a girl. If you were to break in to my house at midnight you will find me either writing an article or marketing it. Yes, I am a happy co-founder of KetchupMoms, an online lifestyle and parenting magazine.

Where did you and your spouse grow up

My spouse is a typical city bred person. He loves his Delhi summers (35c to 45c) and loves a beach or a city holiday. In contrast I have been brought up in India’s famous hill station called Shimla. I remember walking to my school, plucking wild flowers and even chatting up strangers. Needless to say, I love winters and temperatures below 21c.

What was it that first attracted you to your spouse?

Simplicity and honesty. The very values I admire up to this date.

Do you and your spouse have similar personalities or very different?

We are chalk and cheese in more ways than one. He is honest, calm and non-diplomatic. I am a storyteller, I am the person u need to call when u need a good excuse. But I would like to believe that I am a good human being.

What makes your family unique from other families?

Well, we have a history of twins in our family. My paternal grandmother had an identical twin. in my husband’s side his paternal uncle and aunt have twins. And even one of the twins further has twin daughters. little surprise then that we have twins too.

Does your family have any unique traditions?

Every Diwali my mother makes Goddess Lakshmi’s feet from the gate to the pooja room in our house. She grinds some rice with water to makes a radiant white colour and then makes these perfectly shaped feet with it. After marriage I started this tradition in my in-law’s house too.

Will you continue this tradition in your own family?

I have continued this tradition in my own family and everyone looks forward to helping me. it is physically a little tiring but well worth the smiles and beauty.

What is one piece of advice you have to share with other families?

There are no perfect families. So don’t chase that thought. Just try and pass on the good things you have inherited from your elders. And pray like hell that the naughty genes give your kids a miss.
